Prayers...

Living in Appalachia, we're used to the realities of coal mining. In fact, my grandfather never worked another day in his life after the mine collapsed on him. There have been plenty of tragedies in this area, including the toll that's been taken on the environment and the post-coal economy. Still, mining's improved so much that tragedies are few and far between.

This is the latest update on the miners trapped in West Virginia. The news does not look good. At this point, all we can do is pray. I know I've got some praying folks who read this blog, so if you have a spare moment, please think of the 12 men who are trapped a mile under the earth, their families and all of the folks trying to get them out.

Thank you and God bless.
