New Era

Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life.

Monday I moved into my new house. You will get to see pictures as soon as it's organized. Give me a few weeks to get settled. It's daunting to actually have my name on a deed and all that jazz, but I'm excited too. And I am hoping soon enough I will stop hemorrhaging money. Between my downpayment for the house (the biggest check I have ever written), the painter, the movers and all the things a new house needs, I am figuring it will definitely take me until 2042 to get everything paid off.

Originally I'd come over here to write a post on all the trials and tribulations I've encountered in the last four months while attempting to become a homeowner.

And then I realized: I own a home. And it's nice and warm and all my utilities are paid for this month, which means I'll be warm and clean for another month.

Life is good, friends.

I am sick of drama, and I am closing the door on that page and moving on with my life. Yes, I'm surrounded by boxes and not sure exactly when I'll dig out, but that's not a terrible problem to have.

The rest will figure itself out. The past is done, and all you can do is learn from your mistakes and move forward. That's it. No one has a wayback machine to fix the shit that didn't get done the first time. No one.

My problems could be much worse, and there's no point in stirring up drama when it doesn't need to be there.

Here's praying everyone else feels the same way about it.
